GC2 & GC3 APPLICATION

GC2 GC3 GC2 Bishop

All GC2 terminals have nominal 130mm diameter internal dimensions at the terminal inlet and must only be connected to the following types of natural draught domestic gas appliances.

a.  Central heating boilers which have a flue outlet spigots not greater than 125mm diameter.  Combination gas fire/back boiler units with similarly sized flue outlets are also suitable.

b.  Gas fires which comply with BS 5258: Part 5 (1975).  Older fires which complied with BS 1250 may also be suitable.

The GC3 terminal is a larger version of the GC2 insert.  It has a nominal 150mm diameter dimension on its inlet and is only suitable for use with natural draught boilers or combination units with flue spigots not exceeding 150mm diameter, and gas fires as described in b. above.

Important - The appliance manufacturers' installation instructions must be followed at all times.  GC2 and GC3 terminals are not suitable for use with 'decorative fuel effect' gas appliances installed to BS5871: Part 3.

The Bishop GC2 if used with a metal flue liner, the base should be fixed in the same as the standard the standard GC2.  It is recommended that the crown and GC2 are fixed together on the ground with two 300mm lengths of 15swg. copper wire.  The inside of the crown should be sealed with mortar checking that the drainage holes are clear.

When the base has been flaunched on the stack and the terminal placed dry to determine the most suitable seating position, apply a bead of mortar to the top ring and lugs of the base.

GC5 & STANGAS TERMINALS

GC5 Stangas Insert

The GC5 and Stangas Inserts are designed to provide an effective gas flue termination to existing flues whilst keeping a low profile.  The crowned GC5 Insert has the appearance of a traditional chimney pot, making it particularly suitable for conversion work on older properties.

All terminals are tested and approved by British Gas for use with the following types of natural draught domestic gas appliances:

a.  Central heating boilers which have a flue outlet spigots not greater than 125mm diameter.  Combination gas fire/back boiler units with similar sized flue outlets are also suitable.

b.  Gas fire which comply with BS 5258: Part 5 (1975).  Older fires which complied with BS 1250 may also be suitable.

GC5 and Stangas terminals are available in three colours - Red Terracotta, Buff Fireclay, and Blue Black.

Important - The appliance manufacturers installation instructions must be followed at all times.

GC5 and Stangas Terminals are NOT suitable for use with 'decorative fuel effect' gas appliances installed to BS 5871: Part 3.
